Sony BRAVIA Theater Trio, Three-Unit System, Dolby Atmos/DTS:X compatible

Sony BRAVIA Theater Trio, Three-Unit System, Dolby Atmos/DTS:X compatible

Product Description:

The Sony BRAVIA Theater Trio (HT-A8) is Sony's flagship home theater audio system for 2026 — a revolutionary three-unit design that delivers cinematic surround sound scaled to match today's ultra-large TVs. Rather than packing all speakers into a single soundbar, the Theater Trio separates the sound into three wireless units: a center speaker bar that sits under your TV and two wireless front tower speakers that flank the screen. This three-point configuration expands the soundstage far beyond the edges of even the largest displays, creating a vast, room-filling wall of sound that envelops you from the moment you press play.

Created in close collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, the BRAVIA Theater Trio brings studio-crafted sound into your home, capturing the emotion and detail that filmmakers envisioned during production. This isn't just a marketing partnership — Sony Pictures sound engineers contributed directly to the acoustic tuning, ensuring that movies sound exactly as their creators intended when played through this system.

The Theater Trio features 9 total speakers distributed across the three units, with Sony's acclaimed 360 Spatial Sound Mapping creating up to 24 phantom speakers in a cinema-style layout. The system simulates both direct sound from the screen and ambient reflected sound from all around you — including overhead Dolby Atmos height effects — delivering an immersive surround experience that goes beyond conventional surround sound. The surround field stretches wider than the screen itself, pulling you into every scene with cinematic immersion that single-bar soundbars simply cannot match.

Sound Field Optimization takes calibration to the next level with an included USB-C calibration microphone. Place the mic at your listening position, run the calibration, and the system automatically analyzes your room's unique acoustics and optimizes the audio output for your specific space — ensuring that every phantom speaker is positioned precisely for maximum immersion at your seat. AI Sound Separation intelligently isolates voices from background audio and up-mixes stereo content into rich, detailed surround sound for clearer dialogue and more immersive music playback.

The system supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and carries IMAX Enhanced certification. Voice Zoom 3™ uses AI to enhance dialogue clarity when paired with a compatible BRAVIA TV. HDMI 2.1 supports 8K HDR, 4K/120, VRR, ALLM, and Dolby Vision for cutting-edge gaming on PS5. Built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, and Apple AirPlay provide comprehensive wireless streaming. The BRAVIA Connect app handles setup, calibration, and everyday control from your phone. A supplied spacer allows the center bar to sit tidily over the TV stand for an integrated look, and included wall-mount brackets with swivel adjustment enable precise angling of the tower speakers toward the listening position. The system is expandable with optional wireless rear speakers (Rear 8 or Rear 9) and subwoofers (Sub 7, Sub 8, or Sub 9) with dual subwoofer capability.
